recipe @ home | choco creme cookie milkshake | six ingredients

one of my favorite love stories in the bible is the story of jacob and his love for rachel. he waited so long for her. he worked so hard for her.

i was in love with a human once. because i loved him, i paid attention to everything he said and did — with a conscious focus. he ordered an oreo milkshake one day.

combining authentic love in this generation with love of times past, it was time to make a vegan oreo milkshake. i call it speckled, spotted, and flecked in remembrance of jacob’s love for rachel and his willingness and eagerness to pay the price for her.

“i will pass through all thy flock today, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire.” (genesis 30:32)

recipe

makes one milkshake.

ingredients:

instructions:

  1. make the ice cream recipe:

    • the seeds from the vanilla bean create the flecked effect.

  2. place 4 generous scoops of ice cream, 4 cookies, and the milk into a blender. blend on the cold setting, using a tamper to push contents down if needed. pour into a cup of choice.

  3. swirl the coco whip on the top, using a star decorating tip and pastry bag (see tip below).

  4. zig zag chocolate syrup on top.

  5. use a microplane to shave cookie crumbs atop.

  6. plop the cherry on top and you are done!

rachel taught jacob authentic human love.

but only God could teach jacob how to become israel.

bonus tips:

  • keep the ice cream machine bowl in the freezer at all times. it will always be ready and waiting for you to make a batch of ice cream.

  • a gallon ziploc bag can be used in lieu of a pastry bag. it is cheaper and disposable.
