coffee frappuccino @ home
recipe @ home | iced coffee frappuccino | four ingredients
i tried an iced coffee frappuccino at the starbucks barnes & noble cafe, and it quickly became one of my top drinks to order — or rather make.
at over $5 a pop for the venti size, i forsook convenience for cost and moved to making my own vegan version at home. besides, now i can make myself this drink every single day — now that’s convenient.
recipe
makes one drink.
ingredients:
1 1/2 cups ice (made from filtered water)
1/2 cup brewed espresso (use two shots of espresso ground coffee beans)
1/2 cup soy milk, unsweetened
3 tablespoons maple syrup
instructions:
make the brewed espresso.
in a blender container, add the ice cubes, coffee, soy milk, and maple syrup. blend one time on the setting for frozen liquid items.
pour into your favorite large cup and enjoy.
i cannot justify paying over $5 for a drink that costs me roughly $1.30 to make at home, in about five minutes.
bonus tips:
want to make a vanilla frappuccino? add some vanilla extract.
want to make a chocolate frappuccino? add some vegan chocolate syrup — the same kind used for ice cream sundaes.
