recipe @ home | latte | two ingredients

a little over a year ago, i performed a short study on the cost of a venti starbucks beverage versus making a replica at home. how much would it cost? is it cheaper to make at home? the results were surprising.

results:

  • making this latte at home is not cheaper than purchasing a drink at your local cafe or bakery.

  • it is the nutritional uplift this recipe gives that makes the effort well worth it. this recipe is full of calcium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin b6.

recipe

makes one drink.

ingredients:

instructions:

  1. make two shots of espresso using your favorite coffee. i like trader joe’s french vanilla coffee.

  2. heat the nut milk over the stovetop.

  3. combine the espresso and heated nut milk into your favorite cup and enjoy!

this recipe is full of calcium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin b6.

bonus tips:

  • purchasing starbucks beans will not make this recipe cheaper than purchasing a drink in the shop.

  • using a cheaper brand, such as trader joe’s french vanilla, will.

  • in addition, i purchase high quality vanilla extract shipped from vermont. purchasing a cheaper version of vanilla extract will also lower the cost of the latte, making it remarkably financially competitive against a drink purchased outside of the home.
